Curtis Williams bought the 3,200-square foot mansion in the 1920s for $500,000 in 2016, according to the Newport News Daily News.
He purchased the mansion with his wife, Janet, in 2016.
The couple had been together for more that 15 years before he married her.

The couple had two children, ages 7 and 5, and one grandchild.
The house was built in 1920 and is owned by the city of Newport News.
It was sold in 2014 for $2.5 million.
